Hello! I’m Dr. Susanna Bergin.

I was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder when I was 18 years old, and like most of us, was shuffled into talk therapy.

For me, PTSD looked like physical and emotional numbness, chronic pain in my left shoulder for 15 years, inability to connect to myself or others and regular panic attacks.

About 7 years in, my therapist said to me, “It seems to me like you’re doing really well!”

I stared at her, confused.

“I’m still having panic attacks regularly,” I said.

And she said something that completely altered the course of my life, “You’ve achieved what you’re going to achieve in talk therapy.”

I was 25. At that point I knew nothing about somatic healing, embodiment or the nervous system. I was scared, confused, lost and ready to give up on ever feeling normal again.

But it was the first time someone introduced me to the idea that maybe talking about my trauma wouldn’t heal my trauma. (*Spoiler - talking about your trauma will not heal your trauma.*)

And thus, the winding road began. It was the beginning of a decade long deep dive into trauma healing, the body and nervous system regulation.

Now after certifications in massage and embodiment coaching, a doctorate in chiropractic and extensive training in Somatic Experiencing, I am here to bring the most advanced nervous system healing techniques available to my clients.

This work will take you way past healing all the way to thriving.

The body is the key.

I don’t want anyone to have to struggle or search for help, feeling alone and hopeless the way I did.

I spent 20 years figuring out how to heal my trauma because I got to the body last.

Trauma is a physiological event. It must be treated through the body first.
